Add two ROM sockets to any system with ISA slots.
No ROM chips are included by default. Select them with the drop-down boxes.

• Choose from memory addresses between C0000 and F0000.
• Supports 27(C)64, 28C64B, and 28C256 ROM chips.
• Supports writing to EEPROMs.

Some example uses are:

• Add HD floppy support to an XT (provided you already have an HD Floppy Controller).
• Add XT-IDE Universal BIOS to any machine, including 286, 386, 486, and Pentium machines, to support more hard drive types.
• Use as an EEPROM programmer. (XTIDECFG can program non-XT-IDE ROM images too)

If choosing to include a ROM programmed with XT-IDE BIOS, you must specify in the checkout comments, what configuration you'd like. If you do not specify, it will come configured for the most common scenario of a single 16-bit ISA interface at port 1F0 (for 286 and up).
You can always change the configuration with XTIDECFG at any time, since you can write to the EEPROMs.

Some possible XT-IDE BIOS Controller Types:

• 16-bit IDE Interface (on a MultiIO or Sound card) (Primary (1F0), Secondary (170), Other)
• 32-bit VLB/PCI IDE Interface (Primary (1F0), Secondary (170), Other)
• 16-bit IDE interface in 8-bit mode (for CF card adapter only) (Primary (1F0), Secondary (170), Other)

If using in a 386 or up, your System BIOS has the option, and you have everything configured how you want it, you should enable ROM Shadowing at the addresses of the ROM Sockets in use, to improve performance. You may need to disable this function if you want to reprogram the chip from DOS.
