Replacement CPU for systems such as Apple II, Commodore PET, VIC-20, etc.
Manufacturer may vary - many manufacturers produced MOS's chips under license. From MOS's track record on reliability, I'd probably trust other manufacturers more.
Current stock is Synertek, Rockwell, or UMC brand - the exact IC pictured may not be what you receive. The IC may come scratched or scuffed - let me know if you specifically need one that isn't.
Note: The PET 2001 (at least the first boards with 6550/6540 chips), have marginal timing and only work correctly with some 6502s. Some 6502s will cause a phantom character to appear on screen sometimes. Even MOS-branded 6502s from a few years later can have the problem. I pre-test my 6502s, and have separated the ones that play nice with PET 2001, which you can elect to purchase instead. For all other machines, including PETs later than 2001 (such as 2001-N), just the regular option is fine.
